Imagine that your pen pal is going to visit you next month and will be staying with you for one month. You do not know each other very well, and during their stay, they will be spending a lot of time with you and your family as well as engaging with your community. Write them a letter giv- ing plenty of pertinent information. Tell them who you are and what you are like. Describe your family and friends, going into detail with a couple of the most significant people in your life. Talk about what is important in your community. Be sure to give plenty of details and be thorough in your descriptions. You may choose to ask a few questions, but the main purpose of this letter is to provide your pen pal with a great deal of information about the people and perspectives they will encounter during their stay with you.
