For Godard, "Cinema is truth twenty-four times a second. " But at PSU the Center for the Moving Image is attempting to integrate its own truths with unfolding discoveries in the university. And it is growing in competence. Splitting with instructional television services, CMI dedicated itself to a comprehensive film program this year. The program, directed by Andries Deinum and Tom Taylor, took student film buffs into the streets. A case in point was Jack Sanders who shot over 2000 feet of film while trailing a sewer maintenance supervisor. The resulting short subject about a middle-aged city employee, his work and associations, was accredited by the anthropology department as well as by CMI.
