Political activities have long been popular at PSC and many students find an outlet' in the Young Republicans organization. Most active of local political clubs, the YR's [:lrovide both in formative and social activi ties for their members. Hghlight of the year was the statewide selection of Mary Thomas, YR vice-pres ident, to attend the National Republican Women's Meeting in Washington D.C. The Young Republicans during 1960-61, sponsored nationall y and locally prominent speakers: John Roosevelt, Elmo Smith, Robert Packwood and Lowell Paget. The club also sponsored Homecoming princess, Carolyn Curtis. Poll watching, supporting Ballot Measure Six, attending the State YR convention and distributing a Repub lican newspaper rounded out the club's busy year. Chairman of the Young Republicans was Roger Hughes, vice-president, Mary Thom as, secretary. Sandy Sallee and treasurer Bill Nokes.
