Queen Sherri and Mayor Terry Shrunk during banquet Sunday afternoon. Gary Curtis, 1961 director, places the crown upon the head of Sherri Jenkins, officially declaring her queen of the 1961 Winter Carnival. One of the highlights of the Winter Carnival is the selection of a Queen from the princesses repre­ senting the colleges and universi­ ties who participate in the Carni­ val. Each princess is chosen by the school which she attends. A com­ mittee composed of students,- and faculty , judge the princesses on ap­ pearance, poise, and speech. The Queen was crowned during the intermission of the Friday night dance at Timberline Lodge and reigned throughout the Carnival. Sherri Jenkins, a lovely blonde, representing Willamette U niver­ sity. was chosen the queen of the 1961 Winter Carnival.
