Friday, February 12, Portland State celebrated its fifth anni­ versary as a four year, degree-granting college. The program provided entertainment, and to begin the ceremonies, Dr. Branford Millar presented a convocation speech to the student body with the theme "The Future of Portland State." The P.S.C. choir, under the direction of Marjorie Albertson, fol­ lowed Dr. Millar. Later, in the college center, a cake cutting took place. The enter­ tainment was led by Tom Corlett and his fifteen piece band. A local night club songstress was present; the "Jesters" did several renditions, and a special feature of the day's ceremonies was the arrival of Dr. Francis Cramer, P.S.C.'s first president. A dignitaries banquet was held and was attended by school celebrities, post and present. 181
