Friday, February 12, Portland State celebrated its fifth anni versary as a four year, degree-granting college. The program provided entertainment, and to begin the ceremonies, Dr. Branford Millar presented a convocation speech to the student body with the theme "The Future of Portland State." The P.S.C. choir, under the direction of Marjorie Albertson, fol lowed Dr. Millar. Later, in the college center, a cake cutting took place. The enter tainment was led by Tom Corlett and his fifteen piece band. A local night club songstress was present; the "Jesters" did several renditions, and a special feature of the day's ceremonies was the arrival of Dr. Francis Cramer, P.S.C.'s first president. A dignitaries banquet was held and was attended by school celebrities, post and present. 181
