TOWN MEETING Portland State captured the sweepstakes trophy in the twelfth annual Town Meet­ ing Speech Tournament created by PSC speech department head, Dr. Frank Roberts. Colieges competing were the University of Oregon, Idaho, Stanford, Portland, Pacific, Wiliamette, and Washington State. The topic of the tournament concerned "Significant needed changes in foreign economic aid." Assisting Padrow and Dr. Roberts were Phillip Biddle and Dave Curry. Miss Bea O'Donnell acted as hostess. Dr. R'oberls and Portland State forensics coach, Ben Padrow, admire the sweep· stakes trophy won by PSC. UNIVERSITY OF OREGON TOURNAMENT Winners at the University of Oregon Tournament were: Dove Curry, second in ex­ temporaneous; Ed Westerdahl, also second; Delores Jones, who competed in de· bate; John Lake, first in extemporaneous; and Jerry Jamison (not shown ), first in 160 impromptu.
