AESCULAPIUS I i n r-~ C Aesculapius is the pre-nursing club of Portland State. The club was organized at Portland State Extension Center in ] 954. It was not the first nursing club to be organized , but was the first of its kind. Aesculapius was or ganized because of the mutual interests of the girls, and to meet the needs of the pre-nursing students. The club was named after the Greek god, Aesculapius. Officers for the year were: Mary Jean Brannon, president; Bette Maki, vice president; Linda Hamren, secretary treasurer; and Pattie Bracken, historian. Members include Mary Brannon, Linda Hamren, Janice Glaske, Carol Anderson, Joanne Sheller, June Hoken see, Judy McAlexander, Annetta Daniel, Pat Deacon, Rosita Yapit, Pat Anderson, Louann Ri chardson, Bar bara Marcum, Norma Torango, Marcelina Abuan, Bette Maki, Patty Bracken, Loretta Hilbers, Delores Davis, Dee Ann Cook, Katherine Hunt, Judy Brutke, Kathy Watt, Janet Godey, Carolyn McEvers, Blossom Mooline, Tam Tat tam, Mary Bobbitt, Linda Hansen, Karen Mattoon, Pat Cash, June Stone, Margie Lofquist, Ka y Gebhart and Florence Kaneda. 147
