CARNIVAL SUCCESS A steady snowfa11, traffic jams, and a mix-up in the race fail ed to dampen the spirits of the estima ted 6000 person who flocked to Mt. Hood and Timberline Lodge for PSC Second Annua l Winter Carni val. .1iss Annette Broschet, a prett y 20 year old junior from Marylhurst Coll ege was crowned qu een of the Winter Car niva l and the fun was und e rwa y. The Unive r~ ity of Washington represented by the Husky Winter Sports Cluh won the tea m titl e on the two Sunday runnings of the Slalom. Rob Kershaw led the Huskies a nd the field with a combined time of J :07. Heed Collegr was second and won the Oregon Colleg iate ompetition troph y. Reed also won the 5110 \\ sculptu ring trophy and PSC garnered their only trophy with a victory over OSC in the tug-of-war. Billy Daniels, world famous singer, made a Sunday ap pea rance at the Ca rniva l a nd ente rta ined the huge crowd that jammed the main lobby of the lodge with :;evera l of hi s most famou s songs, including " Old Black Magic:' The dance Saturday nite a ttracted hundreds to the ma in lounge as Boh Olsell provided tJl e rhythm necessa ry to sway into the nite. From the opening address by PSC President J ohn Cramer to the final cer emonies Sunday, everyone seemed to have a wonderful time dllring the entire two-day SIlOW fest.
