LOYAL "SHARKEY" NELSON In his second year at P.S.c., Loyal "Sharkey" Nelson is head basketball coach. He began his Oregon coaching career at Benson and Washington High Schools in Portland as the result of a naval acquaintance with Arba Agar, former P.S_c. basket· hall coach. "Sharkey" received his Bachelor's Degree at Central State Teachers College where he majored in History and English and minored in Physical Education. He acquired his Master's De­ gree at Oklahoma A&M College. While in college, his athletic participation included football, track , and basketball. DR. HOWARD WESCOTT Although his main interests centered around wrestling, Dr. Howard Wescott lettered in five different sports during his college career. He received his Bachelor's Degree at Reed College and earned his Master's and Doctor's Degrees at Colum­ bia University. He has since been affiliated with the Physical Education departments of Columbia University, Rice Institute of Technology, and the University of Wyoming. He was Director of Ath­ letics at Reed College before coming to P.S.C. Out of 10 matches last year, Dr. Wescott lead his P.S.C. wrestling team to seven victories. Four team members entered the Far West A.A. U. Cham­ pionship Matches, two of whom went on ·to the National A.A. U. Championship Matches in the East.
