STEHN MISS MARJORIE ALBERTSON Music Music, Choir Department Head The purpose of the speech department is to help students to more effectively broaden their ability and understanding in this field. To accomplish this a wide variety of courses are offered in discus­ sion, drama and stagecraft. The depart­ hent also sponsors dramatic productions and intercollegiate competition in dis­ cussion and debate. The music department, headed by John Stehn, offers courses in theory, Music Lit., Applied Music, and Music Ed. The department also offers the students opportunity to participate in several kinds of musical ensembles. The aim of the Art and Journalism departments is to give the student a background in these specialized fields. This may lead to further professional training or may be used in other fields .
