WRESTLING Vanport' s 1951 varsity wres­ tling team was a highly success­ ful squad. Although its matches were nearly all against four­ year colleges, the Vike wrestlers were able to turn in an impres­ sive seasonal record. Recognition is especially fo­ cused on Dave Baker, Wilbur Bauer, Buzz Wheatley, and the McElroy brothers,Jack and Leo, who all turned in encouraging records. All of these boys, with the exception of Jack McElroy, vied in the Pacific Coast inter­ collegiate wrestling tournament. Baker and Bauer gained coast first place honors and competed in Idaho for Olympic qualifica­ tion. Other members of the squad included: Bud DuBois, Ron Hol­ brook, Don York, Dale Grass· man and Bill Johnson.
