The engineer is one who plans the building of, or builds, any­ thing from an idea, or improves on an existing design. Vanport's engineering department, with divi­ sions in general, civil, industrial and mechanical engineering, gives the student the technical back­ ground and the practical experience necessary to continue in this field .
