DICK OLSON GEORGE NIEMELA President-Fall President-Spring BARRISTERS Vanport's oldest club, the Barristers, was organized in November, 1946 by several pre-law students. Although the members are not required to be pre-law majors, an avid interest in the study of law is required. The Barristers have been very active in student government. Their biggest event is the traditionally sponsored "Gay Nineties Ball," which is one of the school's largest dances. This dance ex­ presses all the color and gaiety of a carni­ val and has become an anticipated event in school. Tte Barristers also published "Date Baite," the first student directory at Vanport, during the Fall term of 1951 . During the school year the Barristers also sponsored speakers from the various lawschools of Oregon.
