The Business Club was organ­ ized to give students an under­ standing of the problems and procedures of the business world. During the past school year, the club has sponsored several lec­ tures by prominent Portland . businessmen, and its members have participated in many field trips to business and industrial firms in the Portland area. BUSINESS CLUB and SPEAKEASIES The Speakeasies is established upon the principles of improv­ ing its members in oral expres­ sion of thought; increasing their ability to appear before audi­ ences, securing fair and con­ structive criticism, promoting sociability and goodwill among its members, gaining experience in public speaking, parliamen­ tary procedure end toastmaster­ ship .
