CATHY BOSTWICK President- Fall VIKES Vikes is the oldest women's social or­ ganization still in existence at Vanport, receiving its charter on April 25, 1948. Its purpose is to further social, educa­ tional, and cultural traits of the members and to aid the students and faculty of the school in any way possible. Members of Vikes have been active in school service projects as well as in social activities. During the past year Vikes has spon­ sored a "Sock Dance" at S"van Island after a basketball game, ushered at the Band Concert, had a booth in the carni­ val, ushered at the Open House during Homecoming weekend, plus aiding and attending various other school functions. Vikes also has a very active socie" life, sponsoring joint meetings, date meetings, and a trip to the beach to celebrate Van­ port's fourth anniversary.
