An underdog Vanport grid team sent a gl ow of pr ide through a homecoming crowd at Beaver Stadium in their final conference game although they wound up on the short end of a 14 to 0 sco re. Vanport had a suppo sedly superi or O.C.E. team backed up against . their own goal for the majority of the fir st half. However a late pass ra ll y by O.C.E. netted them a tou chdown ju st befo re the ha lf ended. The kick wa s good and the half ended O .C.E. 7, Vanport O. O.C.E. ended the scori ng early in the th ird quarter after re covering a fumble on the Vik ing 20 yard line and managed to hold th is lead until the fina l gun although t hree times Vanport d rove with in the 10 yard line of O.C.E.
