Team support increased but precision and fundamentals were lacking as the Vik ings suffered their first setback at the hands of the Penguins from Clark J. C. Clark jumped off to an early 7 to 0 lead on -the first play of the second quarter. Left halfback Ben Mosley of the Penguins took a pitchout from his quarter Wimpy Fletcher on the Viking two and scampered ove r to pay-dirt. Jim Dean 's conversion try was good and the teams retired for the half with Clark leading 7 to O. Midway in the third period Vike quarter, Gene Countryman hit end, Ed Harvey for 35 yards and a touchdown. Gene Rider's try for point was wide and the green machine wa s still behind 7 to 6. The final Clark score came late in the fourth quarter. Fletcher climaxed an 80 yard march to go over from the six inch line. Dean' s conversion try was poor, and the game ended with the Penguins ahead 13 to O.
