Don DeForest PRESIDENT Lawton Bennet VICE PRESIDENT Dade Wright SECRETARY Jim Chunn TREASU RER BARRISTEP. Vanport's oldest club, Barristers wa s organized in 1949 by several pre-law students. Although members are not required to be pre-law majors, an avid interest in the study of law is 'equired. Ba rristers has been active in student government and in intramural sports. Their biggest event is the traditionaly sponsored "Gay Nineties Ball." It expresses all the color and gaiety of a ca rn ivai and has become an anticipated event in school. They also are active on a telephone publicity campaign concerning the 1949 "Vote 302X, Yes," a ballot. One thing is certain: as long as Vanport exists, the Barristers will continue to grow and reflect the sp irit of the school.
