FALL TERM 1950 Under the editorship of Burt Benson a small. but experienced staff published the fall term issues of· the Vanguard. The news staff was comprised of Barbara Case, associate editor; Barbara Blair. former editor; Fran­ cine England. Bat Smith and Lewis Schnacky. Freshman student Jackie Locke was feature editor. Chuck Paulson and Barbara Newton were her as­ sistants. A former member of the Ore­ gon State Barometer's S!;)orts staff. Bob Gaittens edited the sports page. Sports writers were: Bob Schull. Duane Heidegger and Bob Hyland. Graham Bac.kman, a sophomore assumed the responsibilities of business manager.
