Vanport's season opened Tuesday, December 6 when they dropped Clark IC 65-to-56. Viking speed a nd ball-handling were major factors in winning the high- scoring contes t. The Vikes gradually moved away in the first half to pile up to 35-to-27 intermission differ­ ential. "Everybody hits" were second-half watchwords for the Vanport team, as the mar­ gin was maintained without much difficulty . Another victory was recorded over Clark, 56-to-46, with the second team starting the game.
