• Bettering its first game winning margin by 10 points, Vanport battered a Wenatchee IC squad 46-to-7 Saturday, October 8. It was Vanport's first game in Multnomah Stadium. After several line plunges, a Cole man to Bafaro pass was good for a touchdown, and Jerry Peckover followed it up with another TD snatch ing a Wenatchee fumble . Phil Snyder capped a 78-yard drive with TD number 3 and Virg Webb kicked the first conversion of the season for Vanport. The Knights capitalized on a fumble and scored . just before half time, placing the score 19-to-7. Bill Gabriel intercepted a pass on the first play of the second half, and scored. Jerry Garrett plunged across for 2 TD's, and Gene Countryman passed to Gene Miner, before the game was over, leaving the Vikes with another victory in the still young season. 137
