The football team helped make Homecoming a success by smothering the Oregon Tech Owls 33-to-7 Saturday night, November 5, at Vaughn Street stadium. After absorbing three straight defeats the Vikes rose to victory and the .500 mark, while completely dominating play throughout the game. After - leading a long first quarter drive, field general Leroy Coleman plunged over for a TD to start the scoring. In the second quarter Manser _and Snyder scored one each, and Garrett twice, to raise the score to 26-to-0 at the half. Vanport's last tally came in the final period with Snyder again reaching pay dirt. Webb converted to end the scoring. Final score, 33-to-7.
