Ernest Hooqatraat During the school year 1949-1950, Business Ad ministration continued to be the most popular field of study at Vanport with a larger enrollment than that in any other major field . While the courses of fered follow quite closely the lower division curri culum at the University of Oregon. some Oregon State courses are offered. The result is that students attending Van po r t can easily meet all the fresh men and sophomore re quiremen ts of both the University of Oregon and Oregon State. In addition. some pro gress has been made ·in expanding the program to include a two-year ter minal course in Merchan dising. designed for stu dents not interested in ob taining a degree. The small but close working Social Science department offers a comprehensive program to a large group of students in all fields of study. . 114 Robert Men: Brock Dixon
