BASKETBALL FINDLAY AND HOWARD IN ACTION JUMP BALL SKY HIGH Vanport's basketball squad, which started Out slowly and gained momentum as the season progressed, comFeted in the Western State College Tournament at Compton, California, to complete a highly suc­ ccssful season.. At the tournament, which consisted of the tOp 16 junior college teams west of the Mississippi, Vanporr, taking fifth place, wOn the consolation prize and placed Ty Lovelace, forward, on the all-tOurnament team. The team was coached by John Jenkins.
