The year was not without politicans. In November, United States Senator Wayne Morse spoke on "The U.S. and The U.N.", and afterwa'rd engaged in repartee over coffee. George Korienko, somber consul of the Russian Embassy in Washington, attracted a large and interested audience, but offered nothing more than the party line in his discussions of Soviet foreign policy.
