Student activity organizations at Portland State assume added significance in light of the general character of the college. Since PSC does not offer on­ campus housing, these co-curricular groups provide the principal means for students to associate, both socially and according to academic interests. The personal and small-group relationships brought to students by these many organizations are a lively and important part of a college level education.
