Lorna Stickel (BS) has been chosen by Governor Goldschmidt to chair the Water Resources Commission. Doug Nelson (BS) writes that he received an MS in public hea lth sciences from the Uni versity of Il – linois at Chicago in 1990, and now works fall-time fo r the Illinois Department of Labor in Chicago managing OSHA safety and health law enforcement for the state. Janet Martin (BA , '8 1 MA) was named Oregon 's National Endow– ment for the Humanities/Readers Digest Teacher Scholar for 1990, earning a year's sabbatical to study metaphor in North American Indian mythology. Kathleen Ryan-Ward ( BA ) at– tended th e inaug urati on of John Nazarian, eighth president of Rhode Island College, on Oct. 27 as a rep– resentative of Portland State. '74 Dave Erickson (BS ) vice president and international- documentary ser– vices consultant for U.S. Bank of Oregon, has been installed as pres i– dent of the Portland Rose Society for the 1990-9 1year. Erickson has been involved with different aspects of the Rose Festival for 25 years. Dan Fiebiger (BA) has fanned the Multi-Media Production Fellowship in Portl and ,a non profit organ ization dedicated to the production, promo– tion: and distribution of ar-tistry in film, music and sound med iums. Edgar Heger (BS, ' 78 MBA) is manager of investor relations for Portland General Corp., the parent corporation of Portland General Electric. '75 Shirley Dunn (BS) has been elected to the board of directors of the Mount Hood Festival Jazz Founda– tion for 1990-92. Dunn has been appointed to the fin ance committee. Mark Gardiner (BS) was chosen to head the Intergovernmental Rela– tions team as part of Governor-elect Barbara Robert 's transition effort. Gardiner is managing director of the Portland office of Public Financial Management, and Fonner director of fi scal administration for the city of Portland. Ed Tillinghast (MAT), who has served as vice-principal of Bend High fo r the past three years, is returning to LaPine High as prin– cipal where he taught eight years ago. '77 Michael D.
