SPRING 2020 // 15 fifty years ago on May 11, graduate student Cathy Wood Wyrick was returning home to her apartment across from Lincoln Hall when she heard screaming from the Park Blocks. She had just helped negotiate what she thought would be a peaceful end to a week-long student strike protesting the Vietnam War. But as she rushed back outside, she saw a crowd of terrified students running toward her, upset and crying.
