The Tailgate raised over $102,000 net income for academic scholarships and programs at Portland State. Thanks to these special individuals and companies this was our most successful auction to date. '93 Loan Huynh is the school services coordinator for Young Audiences, an organization which brings the arts to K- l 2 students, th rough performance , workshops, and residencie in O regon and southwest Wa hing– ton. Huynh lives in Aloha, O re. Norma Lauzon, a telecommun– ications operator for GTE in Everett, Wash, is beginning a marketing internship in GTE's Public Affairs Department. In Memoriam William Bivin MPA '80 died in a plane crash Oct. 2, while fl ying alone from Anchorage to Bethel. Bivin, 53, was the chief executive officer of the Bethel Native Corp. and had just been named chairman of the state hamber of Commerce. Bivin also served as chairman of the Trust Insurance Plan for South – west Ala ka, was chairman of the Ala ka Wetlands Coa lition and president of the Bethel ' Chamber of Commerce. Tracia Hagy '83, of Redmond , Wa h., died Nov. 6, from C reutzfeldt-Jakob Disease, an illness which destroys the brain. Hagy, an elementary school teacher in the Puget Sound area since l983, had been working at the Open Window School, a school for gifted children.
