Liddell is an account executi ve with Portland Genera l Electric 's corporate sales group . Formerly regional sales manager w ith the Benj . Franklin Savings and Loan Assoc iation , he spent 15 years as program director for the Colum– bia- Pacific Council of the Boy Scou ts of America. Liddell has li ved in West Linn fo r the past 11 yea rs, where he has served on the West Linn Budget Committee and the city's Poli ce Task Force. James D. Smirh Money in the bank Jim Aalberg ('72 BS) has initiated a new scholarship for graduate students studying banking and fin ance in the PSU School of Business Administra– tion. Aalberg, a senior vice pres ident at Security Pac ific Bank Oregon, convinced seven other business school alumni working at the bank to contri – bute to the fund and the bank matched their contributions. J ames D. Smith (BS) has joined KeyCorp as vice president and na– tional property/casualty insurance director. KeyCorp is a fi nanc ial services company based in A l– bany, New York . Smith , who has been in the insurance industry fo r 17 years , will remain in Portl and with his wife Ter ry H . Sm ith ('72 BS) and three children. Nancy Tang (BS , ' 73 MBA) has been elected vice president of the Oregon Soc iety of Certified Pub– lic Accountants for 1990-9 1. Tang is vice provost of academic affa irs at PSU. '71 Michael A. McGee (BS ) is superintendent of the new pri son be ing built in North Portl and. The Aalberg began working for limAalberg the Bank of California after grad uating from Portland 's Franklin High School. With the financial help of hi s employer and by working six days a week , he received hi s degree in business admin istration from PSU. In 1975, he joined the Oregon Bank which was subseq uently acqu ired by Security Pacific . Aalberg is in charge of the Business Banking Group , a division that calls on corporations with sales of $5 mi ll ion to $75 million. In describing the scholarship and hi s commitment to the Uni versity, Aalberg said, "PSU afforded me the opportunity to attend a first-rate uni versity and maintain full -time employment. We put together this scholarship as a way of saying thanks to the school. " The other Security Pacifi c contributors are: Lynn M . Bright ('83 MBA), Kathleen Jansen (' 89 MBA), Gordon Holoman (' 69 BS), Bonnie Leiser ('80 BS), Raedene Keaton ('87 BS), S.E. Smith ('72 BS), and Robert McCall (' 68 BS).
