Thomas Michael is an assistant professor of religion at George Washington University in Wash– ington, D.C. Michael has authored The Plistine Dau: Meta- physics in Early Daoisl Discourse for the State University of New York series in Chinese Philosophy and Culture. He lives in Alexan– dria, Virginia. Kim Larsen is a senior under– writer in employee benefits at The Standard lnsurance Com– pany in Portland. Wendy Crook Ryde MA '97 has received a new assignment as consular chief to the U.S. Embassy in Pon Louis, Mauri– tius, an island country in the southwestern lndian Ocean. Her husband joins the information staff there and her son, Liam, will start daycare in September. Deborah Sommer EdD was chosen 2005-06 Oregon Super– intendent of the Year by the Oregon Association of School Executives. Sommer has been the Canby School District super– intendent since 1999. Ali Eghtedari MS, PhD '05 is traffic manager with the city of Vancouver, Washington. Tamara Kimball is a project engineer at Geotechnical Resources, lnc., in Portland. Kimball, along with her husband and son, recently com– pleted a two-year circumnaviga– tion of the Pacific Ocean aboard their 36-foot sailboat. 7 Marcus Glass is regional accounts manager-industrial fil– ter applications for Total Filtra– tion Services in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Glass is married to Diane (Kittle) Glass '94, MPA '03. They had their first child in March and live in Lake Oswego. Brad Kuhns is an director for Gap, lnc., Outlet Brands Mar– keting (Gap, Banana Republic, and Old Navy). Kuhns has been with Gap in the San Francisco area for six years and previously was a retail designer with Nike. Betty Rivinus MS received board certification as an early childhood through young adult– hood-exceptional needs special– ist. She has taught for eight years and is a learning specialist at Ackerman Middle School in Canby.
