Adams served as state representative from District 27 (West Linn) in the O regon Legislature for three terms. '61 Don Berry is a tax and finan– cial service consultant in Cannon Beach. Berry retired from Pope and Talbot, Inc., in December following 15 years' employment, where he most recently served as vice pres ident of tax management. Gary D. Robinson MA '73 owns and operates Training and Development Programs, Inc., a motivational company, as we ll as Nature ls My Studio, a photography business. Robinson recently wa re-elected to a second term as president of the Friends of the Branford P. Millar Library at PSU and is a former president of the PSU A lumni Association. He lives in Portland . '62 James "Jim" McDonald is pres– ident of McDonald Jacobs Marks Johnson, an accounting firm in Portland . McDonald won the Silver Medal award in 1998 from the Portland Ad Federation in recognition of his long-standing service to the communications industry. '64 Lynne (Melby) H eath writes, "I have just retired after 32 years as an elementary teacher and librarian in a career that started ·' We need your help with the new Alumni and Visitors Center. Barbara Middleton writes that she resigned her position as a teacher and took a job as a teacher's ass istant in order to spend more time with her family. She lives in A loha. '66 Charles "Chuck" Bolton MST '70 has been the band instructor at Sam Barlow High School for 3 1 years and plans to retire in June. Under his leadership, the Barlow bands have placed no lower than fifth at state compe– titions in the last two decades (winning seven times). After retirement, he plans to travel and continue play ing the tuba with the Oregon Symphony and with Dixieland bands. Rev. Douglas H eitschmidt is pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church in Portland. Heitschmidt previously served as a U.S. Navy chaplain for 20 years. John Polos is president and CEO at Polos Electronics, Inc., an alarm and stereo sales and installation firm in Battle Ground, Wash. John Wendebom, a writer and Portland jazz promoter for the past 40 years, writes"... com– pleted three jazz events in 'Madness' series of concerts which donate funds to PSU's jazz studies department. Next is 'Latin Madness 2' on May 2, fo llowed on June 6 by 'A Brush With Madness,' which will feature four artists painting while accompanied by a jazz sextet." '67 D r. Mae Gordon is an associate professor in the department of ophthalmology and visual sciences at the Washington Uni versity School of Med icine in St. Louis. Gordon also serves as director of the departmental biostatistics core modu le. '69 Mary Fogarty MS '88 is a dance teacher in the physical education department at Gaiser Middle School in Vancouver, Wash. Ann Goddard Jackson is exec– utive director and CEO at O regon Hospice Association, a not-for-profit charitable organi– zation in Portland. Jackson writes, "Oregon is a leader in end-of-life care." Tamara Kelley has been elected to the PSU A lumni Board of Directors. Kelley is terri tory manager for Warner Chilcott Labs, a pharmaceutica ls company. She lives in Portland. Jean McCloskey is timber manager at McCloskey- hibley Tree Farm, a timber grow ing business in Estacada. '70 Janice Cissna Daniels is the mobilization assistant to the director of logistics of the Headquarters Air Force Materiel Command at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio. Daniels writes, "[ am a colonel in the Air Force Reserve and am assigned to an active duty unit about 90 days per year. " '71 James Bashford represented PSU at the inauguration of Nancy L. Zimpher as the sixth chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee on March 26, 1999. Bashford is an associate professor of perception labs, department of psychology, at the University of Wisconsin– Milwaukee. Louise (Oliver) Brown MS '79 is a read ing specialist at Hudson Park Elementary School in Rainier.
