In the face of the growing opioid epidemic and other pressing issues, he has collaborated with the healthcare community to develop and evaluate training interventions that build the skills and confidence of healthcare professionals, so they can intervene when colleagues show signs of behavioral health issues. Instructor Cadiz’s research on the occupational health of nurses specifically has explored the influence of gratitude reception on nurses’ health as well as the influence of positive and negative events on nurse burnout and engagement. Instructor Cadiz has published multiple studies in refereed nursing journals and regularly contributes to books and articles on workforce aging and occupational health. He serves as an editorial board member for the Work, Aging, and Retirement journal, and is an ad-hoc reviewer for leading journals such as the Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, European Journal of Work and Organizational Psychology, and Journal of Occupational Health Psychology.
