PROFESSIONAL SCHOOLS - SUNDAY, JUNE 16, 2019 Student Speakers Darren M. Harold-Golden DARREN M. HAROLD-GOLDEN is receiving his bachelors in Political Science. Transitioning from military to the classroom, proved a challenge his first year at Portland State, The shock of transition from an extremely structured and regimented schedule to an open and relaxed environment was difficult but with the help of his community and internal drive, he was able to push through it. Darren would like to share that everyone has a voice; no matter how Mila Rodriguez-Adair MILA RODRIGUES-ADAIR will be graduating with a Masters in Social Work. Mila was born and raised by immigrants and has become an advocate for underrepresented and underserved individuals and communities. Her most memorable experiences at PSU include meeting professors; Dr. Lakindra Mitchell Dove and Lucrecia Suarez; two women of color in the School of Social work, as well as meeting and gaining long-term friendships through her program. insignificant you think it is. No matter who you are, you are worth it. On his free time, Darren spends quality time with his family, especially with his nieces and nephews. After graduation, he hopes to bring lasting political and social change by running for office in the future, Mr, Harold-Golden would like to thank his family and friends for their love and support. He is blessed that the line between is blurred. After graduation, Mila will continue work as a Trainer/Consultant for Portland State University School of Social Work - System of Care Institute. She is excited to also sleep and catch up with her friends and loved ones that she has had to place on hold during her studies.
