THE SCHOOL OF BUSINESS - SATURDAY, JUNE 15, 2019, 4 Student Speakers 4 p.m. Ceremony Perlita Anzures-Flores PERLITA ANZURES-FLORES, Bachelor of Arts in marketing and advertising, chose her concentrations because they fuse business, strategy, creativity and storytelling. She feels fortunate to be a recipient of the Ford Family Foundation Scholarship and, as a result, is graduating debt free. Perlita comes from a long line of farm workers and is the first woman in her family to graduate from college. In het free time, she enjoys reading, writing a memoir that she hopes to publish one day, going to concerts, and spending time with friends and family. Naureen Khan NAUREEN KHAN is graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in marketing with a minor in economics and certificates in international business and global studies. She chose these programs because she enjoys learning about other cultures and customs. Her family is Pakistani-Indian and she is a first generation Muslim-American. She believes it’s crucial to be culturally aware and that an international perspective should be applied to business practices, especially as more companies globalize. 1 P.M. Over the past three years, Perlita has served as a PSU Student Ambassador and has given over 100 tours of campus. She would like to thank her parents, siblings and extended family for their unconditional love and support; her favorite band SWMRS for empowering her through their music; her late grandma Irene Rebollosa Flores and uncle Raul Flores Jr. Descansa en paz; and, lastly, the educators and mentors at Hermiston High school and PSU that made today possible. Naureen has supported herself by working multiple jobs and still found time to be an active member of the Badminton Club for four years and dance with the Pacific Islander’s Club for three years. Naureen plans to stay in the Portland area after graduation. She wants to thank her parents for being understanding and working with her to ensure her success in her academic pursuits. She also wants to thank the PSU community for being so supportive and caring in helping her be her best self and achieve her goals. 13
