This course, offered as part of the Red Rose School spring term, will use slides, lecture and discussion to illuminate these works in the context of Mexican art of the revolutionary period, beginning with Posada. We will examine the roots of that art in the national heritage of the Mexican people, its relevance to the immediate political crisis and its vision of a democratic society.
